Case study · TMS

A TMS built around the operations of a transport company.

A web application developed in 2025–2026 and used daily in production: from the order received by email to the trip and the invoice. The system is under continuous development and keeps getting new features.

In production: 5,960 orders between 7 February and 23 October 2026, 74.7% of them opened from emails.
What the system covers

The daily transport workflow, in one system.

Shipments and carriers

Shipments are created in the system and assigned to carriers.

Milestone tracking

Each shipment’s milestones are tracked through to delivery.

CMR and contracts

CMR documents are managed in the system, and contracts are generated automatically.

Orders from email

Booking emails become shipments. The data is extracted automatically from the email, and the team checks it against the original email and continues its normal workflow.

Fleet and telematics

Fleet records and telematics data through the Schmitz integration, already in production.

Trips and invoicing

Trips and invoicing are managed in the same system as shipments.

Administration

User roles and an audit log of changes.

From production

Figures from the system in daily use.

Data read from the production system for the period 7 February – 23 October 2026.

5,960 orders

in total, over the period analysed

4,451 orders (74.7%)

opened from received emails

1,509 orders (25.3%)

entered manually

2,427 update messages

for existing orders (changes and cancellations), processed from email

Orders from email

It works here. It can be adapted to your TMS.

Email order intake runs in production at the company featured in this case study. For your company, we start with a few real emails and the TMS you use to assess what can be automated and what adaptations are needed.

The software takes the data from the email. The team checks it against the email and carries on with its work.

In development

A system that keeps growing.

The project is not closed. The system is used daily and keeps getting new features.

  • Schmitz telematics integration, in production
  • Fuel card provider integration, coming soon
  • Further features, in progress
