Case study · CAT Autologistics

Vehicle compound, reports and SAP exports.

We developed and extended modules in the client’s existing system: parking management, reports for manufacturers and financial data exports for SAP. The client is an automotive terminal in Romania that manages a compound of new vehicles for manufacturers such as Renault, Dacia and Nissan.

A multi-year collaboration on a monthly contract.
The client

An automotive terminal working for several manufacturers.

CAT Autologistics manages a compound of new vehicles and their transport. Cars enter the compound, are assigned a spot, may be moved, get accessories and leave for delivery. Manufacturers require their own reports, and invoices and expense statements have to be taken into accounting, in SAP.

Requirements

Compound records, reporting and data for accounting.

The work covered parking setup, occupancy tracking, manufacturer reports and financial exports for SAP.

Parking setup and tracking

Creating and configuring parking areas, defining zones, blocking spots, tracking occupancy and exporting the position inventory.

Reporting for manufacturers

Reports and statistics for Renault and Dacia, generated from compound data, plus dispatch notes for Dacia shipments.

Financial exports for SAP

Export of supplier invoices, expense statements and issued invoices, in the format required for import into SAP.

What we built

Modules added to the existing system, step by step.

We worked in the client’s existing system, module by module, without replacing it.

Compound and parking

What it does

Creating and configuring parking areas, defining zones, blocking spots, viewing the parking layout and moving cars to other positions, one at a time or in bulk.

Tracking

Compound occupancy, automatic matching between the terminal’s records and compound positions, and the position inventory exported to Excel.

Reports for manufacturers

What it does

Reports and statistics for Renault and Dacia, generated from compound data, plus dispatch notes for Dacia shipments.

Input data

Import of chassis numbers, so cars enter the system without manual typing.

Accessories

What it does

Accessory inventory and stock, with delivery sheets for accessories fitted or handed over.

Finance and SAP

What it does

Export of supplier invoices, expense statements and issued invoices to SAP, in the format SAP requires.

Around invoicing

Invoice search, cost centres by division, quote allocation and automatic retrieval of company details by tax ID (CUI).

Result

What the system enables.

  • Parking setup and occupancy tracking in the system.
  • Generating manufacturer reports from compound data.
  • Export of invoice, expense statement and supplier data in the format required for import into SAP.
  • Retrieval of company details by tax ID (CUI).
The project grew step by step: one module, then the next, in the client’s existing system.
What it means for your company

Different workflows, the same approach.

In transport and freight forwarding, too, data has to flow between operations and accounting. Workflows differ from one company to another. The approach stays the same: we start from one concrete step and check what can be connected in the existing systems.

Automation for freight forwarders Less retyping of transport requests and changes from emails into your TMS.
How we start

We start from one concrete step.

We start with a conversation and a review of the current workflow, then choose a concrete first step that can be tested in the systems you already use.

Where does your team enter the same data more than once?

Briefly describe the workflow and the systems you use. If you are preparing a digitalization project for a client, we can discuss the technical component. No confidential documents are needed for the first conversation.
